Help Thomas get back home

Hi all, we are Claire and Louise and we are asking for our community to come together as we know you can for a lovely man called Thomas.

Louise met Thomas when he was driving a van very slowly before pulling over, worried that the driver was unwell she pulled over to check on them and met Thomas and found out about his situation.

Thomas is an 80 year old man who lives on a boat on the local canal with his two dogs, vandals broke into Thomas’ boat when he was asleep hurting him and smashing up his boat making it inhabitable and taking on water. Thomas has been trying to repair his boat himself but meanwhile until it is fixed he is staying in his van with his two dogs in freezing temperatures , last night he tried hostels but they were full.

We are admin on the Tamworth matters facebook page and when people heard Thomas’ situation there were so many offers to help him (130 in just a few hours) whether it’s to help him fix his boat, help with temporary accommodation or offers to donate to help with this, many people suggested that they would like to donate to Thomas so hence setting this up. We are communicating with Thomas and hopefully as a community we can help him and his dogs get back home on his boat soon.
