A House For the Girls!

Donation protected
My sister, Grace Yoder, has been serving at a Children's Home in Mexico for a number of years. She has a heart of gold and would do anything for the girls she loves and cares for. Through her care she has felt called to adopt and provide a real home for two of the little girls that she has been taking care of. We found a small house on a nearby property that is perfect for her to move into and give these little girls what they could only dream of until now, a real home. Let's help her make this possible! Read about her journey below. God bless you as you consider partnering in this mission through prayer or donations.

It's been around four months since I started on this journey. The journey of making my girls my own. In October of 2015 one evening around supper time and older lady showed up. She was looking for a place for her granddaughter to live. My heart beat faster with excitement as I peered out the window. Wondering if the beautiful child with big black eyes would be mine. She was almost nine old and her name is Kely. Greivin came to talk to Kita n I. Which of us wants the girlie on the front porch? We looked at each other. Both of us wanted her but neither wanted to be selfish. I had more children but Kita was dating so the scales tipped a bit in my favor. Seeing our faces Greivin says, let's see who the girl wants. Let's let her choose. So out on the porch we went. A row of us lined up on the porch. Greivin asks the girl who do u want to care for u? Her eyes started down the row , my heart was almost beating itself to death. Her eyes met mine and stopped. We stared at each other for a moment then she slowly stood and silently pointed to me. Joy burst in my heart. Joy at the thought of touching another life. Joy at the thought of giving someone a chance. Three weeks later Kelly's little sister Dana joined us. She came to visit and cried because she wanted to stay. She wanted to stay with her sister and the lady with the glasses. I will never forget watching her stand in front of Greivin with her simple request. Tear-filled eyes lifted to his. Over the next few months a bond was formed. The girls started telling me, mommy we want to stay with you for always. We want you to adopt us. Having no hope of it ever happening I would just smile n say that would be nice! In the beginning of 2017 after thinking, praying, n struggling for months, I decided I was willing to keep the girls if it was possible. Having worked with teenagers for four yrs I knew how big the responsibility was. I knew the pain I knew the tears, the prayers, the emotional pressure it takes. I knew that my choices in my personal life could very well make or break them. And I knew like my brother told me I might not get married for ten years if ever. Still in the knowing was peace. I talked to my dad. He gave his blessing n committed to backing me up. The church here was supportive so I kept moving forward. Because the girls are older time is essential. Lord willing the end of June I quit at Shining Light Children's Home. My oldest girl Karen is turning 18 in June. Her son is almost 5 years old. She is planning to live with me. God has given me a gift of working with older children n teens. I enjoy it. Especially the really bad ones. To me teens are our future! Prepare n disciple the teens so they are ready to take the gospel back to their families. It awes me to see my oldest with the same passion and heart for teens. Someday I hope to be able to work with teens at my house. Work with the ones that are too troubled to stay at Shining Light. Until then I shall teach school to support myself and invest lots of time in my girlies. Giving them the best I've got.We found a house on a nearby property that is for sale would love to purchase it for our new home. We trust God to provide the money to take this step on this scary but incredible journey. Grace Yoder
