Fifteen years ago, I made a promise — to show up for Harlem.
What began as a small Thanksgiving giveback has grown into a powerful annual tradition serving hundreds of families at the Harlem Polo Grounds Community Center.
This drive has never been about a single day. It’s about consistency, connection, and community — showing up year after year for the people who make Harlem what it is: resilient, proud, and full of heart.
This year marks our 15th Annual Turkey Drive, and our goal is to feed 300 families.
Our Goal
To feed one family costs $40.
Each family will receive:
- 1 Turkey
- 1 Bag of Fixings & Fresh Produce (12 items)
- ️ 1 Hot Seated Meal
In addition, we are raising funds for extra grocery bags filled with fresh produce and canned goods to reach even more families in need.
If we exceed our goal, we’ll also provide:
- Face Painting for the Kids
- A Magician
- Tote Bags for Families
Every dollar raised goes directly toward food, supplies, and creating an unforgettable Thanksgiving experience for our community.
Why It Matters
For many families we serve, this meal represents more than food — it’s warmth, connection, and dignity.
I have family in this community. I’ve seen firsthand how hard people work, how much they give, and how often they go without recognition or resources.
Every year — despite challenges like broken elevators, rising costs, and limited access — this community shows up.
And so do we.
Because that’s what commitment looks like.
