Save The Climb
Dear community friends and family,
We are coming here today with our hearts shattered, as we announce the closing of Osky Open Bible. Unfortunately, to own and operate a Church, a congregation must be built. To run a church, a substantial amount of money must come in. Our Church home has fallen short.
While we are extremely sad to say goodbye to the Church, we must know that we are going to be led in the right direction. Without a rocky journey, there would be no beautiful destination. The founding members of The Climb are not ready to give up. We are ready to fight for our community space, fight to help others, and we are ready to fight to keep The Climb up and going.
That being said, we need your help. We have faith that our community sees the work we do. We know you see our long days, fundraisers, and community events. We know you see the love we have for Mahaska County. All our members share the same love. You give, you receive, you love deeply. We have seen rocky roads.
Our original intention was to try and purchase the building that we are currently housed in. While we have received generous donations, we will not have enough to purchase the building. Any monetary donations will be put towards finding the perfect “home” for The Climb and making it our own. This could be for rent, electric, remodeling, etc. Securing a permanent space is our number one priority.
Our founders are putting our pride aside to ask, to plead for your help. Help to save our building. Help to save the space that has already helped thousands. We need monetary donations. Even one dollar helps. We have over 4,000 members on Give it up, MAHASKA, and almost 1,000 on The Climb. I believe that we have the power to make this happen. If you are able to give, please contact Lani Anderson or Sheila Guiter immediately. IF you have any suggestions, please message us. Please know that this is a time of grieving and sorrow for us. Make sure your words are kind.
Thank you!
