My 2nd Chance & It Needs 2 Count...

People say I have a creative writing ability but need to learn to edit. I agree so I am gonna try to keep my story fact based and keep it moving. I have had a year of set backs that have made me realize I have made choices that have real consequences and do overs are childs play. Making my next efforts timely and so much more important that I get things right. Last year I was diagnosed with CKD/Renal Failure and am only now getting used to the AV Fistula and Dialysis. Next was immediate family members passed I never got to say goodbye to and one I was forced to place in assisted living that doesnt recognize me when I go to visit, the series of events also pushed me into a depression that is affecting my life to the point I have also now been living out of my jeep and am surviving but identify as homeless at the moment. That is the bad but here is where hope is proving to be a good thing and what I am getting a second chance at and with some help financially may be the change that will turn things around for me...30 years ago I met my birth father and spent under a week with him and suddenly he was gone again out of my life until recently. I had a number that I thought belonged to him and in the middle of early morning I took a chance and sent a text. I said Dad, hey it is Brad (nickname) I hope I am not bothering you but I was thinking of you and wanted to let you know. I miss you and love you very much. I hope to hear from you. The next day I recieved a text from my Uncle his brother and  needless to say and thankfully as well my Uncle said your Dad ask me a little while back to look for you and see if I could locate you and look now how things work it seems you have found us. Writing this is emotional and I am truly hopeful about something for the first time it feels in a long time. I have been invited to the annual Highfill family reunion happening in June and suddenly have a second chance at having my Dad back in my life permanently. I mentioned I am living in my jeep...its true and as a result I need 2 tires replaced where radial spokes are visable and the tread is worn away, the wheels need to then be aligned as well as a new battery and the cooling system needs to be charged as well as an emissions test. The the gasoline to drive from Atlanta to North Carolina & oh yeah an oil change. Essentially I set my goal to best prepare to get my car up to standards so that it is safe and even legal i.e. emissions test is overdue. Next will be a chunk of change for insurance and the ability not to have to sneak around a walmart parking lot late at night looking for a safe spot to park and not only sleep but also camoflage that the emissions tag id expired from security and such. I am looking at this entire up turn of events as the opportunity to maybe even restart my life somewhere new with support of family and a new setting full of potential to find myself again and be successful as the man I am and even better than I know myself to be now. So if you want to be part of my plan help me put it into action and then follow my story as it unfolds on facebook and lets see what happens when you trust yourself enough to take that leap of faith into the fantastic uncertainty of the unknown- believing and having faith it is exactly where you are supposed to be. #ItsAllReallyHappening Thank you in advance to everyone for your time and consideration. Brad
