I am a small business owner who firmly believes in the power of community and in supporting those who are striving to create a better future. In 2025 l took the leap to become a full time photographer with the backing of mentorship and people who believed in my dream. I have been incredibly blessed in this season and I promised myself that I would pour forward whatever I could to help someone else have the same chance to breathe and build. Today I am sharing this on behalf of someone I love and deeply admire.

This individual has asked that he remain anonymous in this public space. The reasons are important and sincere. He does not want his name online where it could invite judgment from relatives who have already caused him pain. He is trying to protect the dignity of those who have helped care for him and shield them from feeling blamed for circumstances they never created. He also fears that public exposure could affect his safety and his employment. Most of all, he wants to be known for his future and not for his struggle.

Unfortunately, for much of his life this young man from has faced significant obstacles. His relationship with his family has been severely strained, and since high school he has navigated adulthood almost entirely on his own. Athletics and scholarships once carried him to a Division One university, but when those resources were exhausted he transferred back to Grand Rapids so he could remain in school rather than give up on education. Now, in his early twenties, he is facing a financial burden of $6,500 for education and housing. That number represents tuition bills, a safe place to sleep, textbooks, and the choice to keep learning even when it would have been easier to walk away. He has dreams of completing college. He wants to launch a business that will serve his community and create stability for himself. Those dreams are still alive, but the debt has made the present feel impossibly tight.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 to cover the most urgent portion of the loans and give him room to continue school and build his business without the constant fear of falling behind. Any amount, even a few dollars or a simple share, will make a real difference. For transparency and gratitude, every donor will receive a personal thank you message. He is willing to share his identity privately with those who give, but he is asking for privacy in this public space.

If you feel led to give, please know that your support is not just helping with debt. It is helping restore momentum, dignity, and the ability to keep going. Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being part of someone else's turning point.

His Story:
“I am a young man from Grand Rapids who has navigated life largely on my own. Coming to the United States at a young age, I was raised by my grandmother, a bond that has been the cornerstone of my life, and I have been independent since high school due to strained family relationships. In my early twenties I am facing $6,500 in loans taken out for education and housing. Despite these obstacles I have remained dedicated to my studies and to the dream of launching my own business.
Athletics and scholarships helped me stay in college for a time, but when those resources ended I returned home to Grand Rapids so I could continue school instead of walking away. My church community has become my family, offering love and guidance when I needed it most. Even when I had little I tried to help others and stay committed to the people around me. Asking for help now is one of the hardest things I have ever done, and I wish to remain anonymous publicly to protect my privacy and avoid further strain within my family. However I am deeply grateful for any support. I will send personal thank you letters to every donor so you can know the impact of your generosity. Your kindness will help me continue my education, build my business, and move toward school and a future where I can give back even more. Thank you for considering helping me on this journey.”
