My name is Airon Whitt, and I’m raising funds to honor my dear mother, Kim Whitt, who passed away from lung cancer in October 2025. Kim was a lifelong fiber artist and painter, a proud member of the Mississippi Arts Colony, and worked for the Mississippi Arts Commission supporting artists across the state. She loved nature, her garden, and the creative community she helped nurture. Her dream was to turn our family property, and their art studios, Sweetwater Studios, into a community craft center where people could learn, create, and connect.

Funds raised through this campaign will help establish The John and Kim Whitt Foundation for the Arts, which will go on to renovate and build The Sweetwater Craft Center to carry her vision forward.

Please note that donations made through this GoFundMe are not tax-deductible at this time. If you would prefer to make a tax-exempt contribution once the official foundation is established, please reach out directly for updates on how to do so.
