29 for 29: Veterans and Wildlife

My name is Adam,
I'm getting old. Next month is my 29th birthday and I want to run 29 miles, all while keeping community in mind. I'm a student veteran at Vassar College and I wish to raise funds for the Vassar Veterans Association (VVA) and for the local Trevor Zoo. The run will take place Sunday, November 19th on the Dutchess Rail Trail. I will aim to complete it in under 290 minutes (about 10 minutes per mile) in order to push myself in the name of service and belief in a cause. 100% of donations will go to the following organizations:
The VVA is an on campus organization that helps Vassar student veterans adapt to and succeed in academic life and is also actively engaged with the wider student body. Funds for the VVA will aid them in continuing to help not only Vassar student veterans but other local veterans as well and all students on campus as the VVA is constantly seeking ways to serve the community via events and outreach.
The Trevor Zoo at Millbrook is a local zoo that has a small size but huge impact. Fully accredited by the Associations of Zoos, the Trevor Zoo handles wildlife projects on a scale as important as some of the nations largest zoos but with very limited resources and staff. As an Environmental Studies major myself, I have a keen interest in environmental work, especially in wildlife, wild landscapes, and overall ecology. Funds for the Trevor Zoo will help it continue to do amazing work in wildlife conservation, rehabilitation, education, and more. It is a vital part of the overall fighting force that aims to preserve some of the planets most precious entities, its wildlife. And its right in our backyards!
