Rotary YP eClub Step Up for Cancer Awareness

As National Cancer Awareness Day approaches on November 7th, we’re marking a special milestone: 164 days since the chartering of the Rotary Young Professionals eClub. In honour of this occasion and in solidarity with those impacted by cancer, we’re excited to launch the Rotary YP eClub Step Up for Cancer Awareness campaign for the month of November. We warmly invite friends, family, and fellow Rotarians to join us in taking 164,000 collective steps as we walk or run for cancer awareness on the 7th of November.

Following the 7th November, our overall target for the month would be 3,320,000 (830,000 steps a week) inclusive of the 164,000 completed on 7th November which represents recent global estimates indicating approximately 830,000 cancer deaths per month based on 10 million deaths annually, a stark reminder of the worldwide impact of cancer.

Together, we can create a meaningful impact by raising awareness and support for cancer research and those affected by this disease. Let’s lace up, track our steps, and share the journey. Each step we take, each story we share, brings us closer to a world with better understanding and prevention. We look forward to having you with us in this inspiring cause!

To collectively raise awareness for cancer by encouraging participants to walk or run towards our goal, participants should share their journey on social media to promote the campaign and encourage donations via a GoFundMe page using #RotaryYPeClub

Please note that all proceeds donated will go directly to Cancer Research UK. Thank you for your generous support in helping us fund vital research and make a difference in the fight against cancer.
