#5280 "Don't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes."  Yes shoes, one of those basic life necessities and yet one we often times so easily take for granted.  If we just pause for a moment and look down at our feet, they tell our story, where we have been, how long we have traveled, how the road may have looked, and how we weathered the terrains of life's journey.  Shoes, they bring us protection, shielding our health from the harsh elements which transcend through the "walk of life."  Oddly enough, shoes can elevate a certain level of confidence within us too, I think if we are being honest, a new pair of shoes might make us feel pretty good about ourselves, perhaps even putting a little extra pep in our step.

Some of us are even as fortunate to have many pairs within our collection, gym, work, casual, dress, etc, but how about those less fortunate who don't even own a single pair, in fact, some 3rd world regions throughout might even feel grateful to own ONE shoe, yes, just one.  The harsh reality is that most children in these regions walk about daily with disease and infection ridden wounds on their feet.  Simply from the vantage point of basic health standards, we can acknowledge the fact our feet hygiene can have a significant impact on the rest of our body balance.

So here's the tie in and where you ALL come into play, I need your help.  I will be traveling back to Central Africa at the end of the month and will be visiting the slums to reach both people young and old who are not fortunate enough to possess basic life necessities, shoes being one of them.  I recall seeing photos a few months back of my friend Patrick and his team washing the feet of some of the street children, their wounds cut deep, a very painful sight to see, and yet fused with a beautiful hope for humanity to become a catalyst for change.  I was deeply moved by these photos to say the very least, the images capture a story and I feel we carry a solution.  As I've been brainstorming with him and a few others, I felt it would be inspiring if we could come together as community to deliver a small yet beautiful act of kindness from our homes to theirs through purchasing shoes for the less fortunate living within the slums.  My goal is very simple, over the course of the next 27 days, I hope to raise enough funds to purchase 200 pairs of shoes which cost between $10-15 per pair.   Through your compassionate donation, I will be able to purchase the shoes while in Africa and will have the opportunity to deliver them to the slums along with Patrick and his team @ RUHU.

For those who know me well, this mission has become a sacred place within my heart.  It also creates a pretty cool platform for us to share and educate our friends, family, and children about the beautiful world we live.  As I've grown older, I've come to cherish the little things in life and have acknowledged the greatest antidote to the world around us is found through delicate acts of compassion and kindness.  I believe life is truly about lifting up others.  If you don't feel compelled to give, I would be very grateful if you would be willing to simply share this message with others who you feel might be interested in joining my team and I in this opportunity to help transform the lives of others in a meaningful and tangible way, WE CAN!

Thank you for your willingness to listen and I warmly welcome you in joining us on the incredible journey ahead.

Kind regards
