I will be walking the 3 Peaks Challenge 2025 in memory of Dan

On September 25th 2025 I will be participating in the 3 Peaks Challenge to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. I will be returning to Snowdon, the last mountain Daniel (plus Burt !) and I walked together..

For me and my family the 25th September is a tough but memorable day as next year it will mark 7 years since we lost our 'Dan' to suicide in 2018. He was just 19 yrs old. At the time I was a serving officer with Hampshire Constabulary.

I shall be raising money to benefit Curtis Palmer Program, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to a cause that means so much to me.

The Curtis Palmer Program is a green charity set up by Police Officers in memory of PC Curtis Palmer from Dorset Police. The charity aim to help the physically ill and those suffering with their mental health as they quote; "Prevention is easier than cure." The CCP base all its activities on the 5 NHS steps to better mental health and wellbeing - socialise with others, physical exercise, learn new skills, teamwork and mindfulness on the now.

During my early stages of grief, the Police service helped me with this trauma, and they have helped and supported many other retired and servicing Police officers with PTSD, stress and other mental health related issues. It is estimated that most people experience 3 or 4 traumatic experiences in a lifetime, police officers are estimated to experience 400-600. Police Federation 2021

Research by the University of Cambridge estimate that one in five officers report experience of either PTSD or Complex PTSD.

It is therefore not too difficult to image the level of need and support officers, and their families might need to help them come to terms with these significant events. Please help support officers and the work of Curtis Palmer. Please support me in my climb to raise £1000.
