From Jersey To Kampala, Uganda

As most of you know, I've recently entered in to the world of hospice nursing. It was always on my radar, but I thought these old legs had a few more years left of ED nursing in them. I believe I've found my home in hospice, and can't say enough about the people I've come across in my short time working with Samaritan.
Several years ago, Samaritan developed a partnership with a hospice organization in Kampala, Uganda. The folks at Kawempe Home Care are providing hospice care to their community members who are diagnosed with TB, HIV/AIDS, and cancer. In addition they provide education, housing, and career development for their patient's families.
As you might imagine, the facilities, availability of resources, and overall health care environment is a lot different than what we're accustomed to. I've recently had the pleasure of participating in a Skype call with the staff at Kawempe, they are so excited about the upcoming visit from the US partners!
Samaritan is facilitating a trip to visit Kampala this summer. The timing of the trip will coincide with their 10 year anniversary. I'd love to be a part of this once in a lifetime trip to Uganda, but I need your help. The trip is costly, but well worth the fund raising(that's where you come in)/extra shift (that's where I come in) efforts.
Please check out Kawempe's website to see all of the wonderful things they're doing with very limited resources. If you're moved to, click donate. Make it possible for this Jersey girl to do my thing in Uganda!
