We are 7 Transition Year Students & 3 Parents from Naas who are raising vital funds for the Cara Projects - Cara Rescue Centre for Girls in Kenya. Your donation goes directly towards the running costs of the centre which provides up to 40 girls with guaranteed refuge, nutritious meals, education, and most of all, an environment where they can feel safe & secure.

What is the Cara Rescue Centre for Girls?

It is a refuge for over 40 girls rescued from a variety of reasons involving physical, sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment, and potential child marriage from within the Ngong Hills Region. The aim of the centre is to create the opportunity for the girls to build self-confidence, together with giving them vocational skills to enable them to be independent in their future lifestyle choices. Through the Cara Girls Rescue Centre (CGRC) they strive to promote Women’s Empowerment through vocational training, Health Promotion, Education, Gender Equality, Economic Empowerment and Sustainable Development. They are a non-denominational and non-political organisation.

Cara Projects is an Irish-founded internationally registered Non-Governmental Organisation (CHY18662/20071981) that works in Kenya with a targeted focus on Child Protection. 100% of all funds raised go directly to the Cara Projects and there are no administration fees or salaries taken by any Irish Staff or Volunteers.

We now feel it is our turn to give something to this wonderful organisation. It will also enable us to travel to the centre to participate in the upkeep including general maintenance, delivering much-needed food parcels to families in the wider area and emotional and practical support to the girls.
