Why We Walk – Why We Give
The statistics are staggering and personal:
- 49,476 lives lost to suicide in the U.S. in 2024 — more than deaths from breast cancer.
- Deaths by suicide reached an all-time record high in 2024 (again).
- 12.8 million people seriously considered suicide last year.
- 1 in 5 high school students and 1 in 10 college students have considered suicide.
- 1 in 3 people will face a diagnosable mental health condition in their lifetime.
This crisis touches all of us. It’s time to #ChangeTheConversation and break the silence around mental health.
