I am raising money for menstrual products to donate to members of my community who are experiencing period poverty. Period poverty can create anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, depression, and can impede on educational and work opportunities. Lack of menstrual products can lead to poor menstrual hygiene, which can impose serious infections/diseases. Period poverty is an issue of dignity and human rights, and if I can help in any way, I will! All proceeds will go to menstrual products that will be donated to local charities. In September of 2024, we raised a total of $200, and I was able to purchase over 40 packages of menstrual products with that money. Those products were donated to the Jamil Niner Student Pantry, which is open to all students and faculty at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This October, I will be donating all of the menstrual products with the money we have raised together this year to Project Downtown Charlotte. If you can donate, please do so because every little bit helps! If you are unable to donate at this time, sharing the link to the GoFundMe is a great way to be a part of my project!
