I’m reaching out for help for my grandparents, who are facing an urgent and heartbreaking situation. My grandpa has lived in his home for his entire life—since the day he was born—but now, due to overwhelming debt and unpaid taxes, their home is at risk of foreclosure in February. They are currently $90,000 in debt, and despite my grandpa's best efforts to catch up on the taxes, he's been unable to because of complex ownership issues.

In 2017, my grandpa’s mother passed away, and ownership of the house was divided among her children. Unfortunately, my grandpa’s brothers and sisters passed away shortly after, leaving ownership to their children. My grandpa has been trying to resolve the ownership issues and pay the taxes, but the court won’t allow him to take full ownership until this is sorted out. Meanwhile, some of his family members that have partial ownership are under the impression that the house is worth a lot of money, which, given its current condition, is not the case.

To make matters worse, my grandpa was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2024 and is currently recovering and not to mention the financial toll of medical bills. On top of that, he broke his neck this past September , which has left him unable to work. Between his health struggles and the financial burden of trying to keep up with everything, my grandparents are under an unimaginable amount of stress.

They need help now more than ever, and I’m asking for any support you can offer to help save their home. Your donation will go directly to helping pay off the back taxes and prevent foreclosure so my grandparents can keep their home and focus on my grandpa’s recovery.
