Support Gwendolyn's Family in Crisis

We are reaching out to the community for URGENT financial support on behalf of our Mother, Gwendolyn, and the two youngest of our siblings. Over the past year and a half, our Mom has faced extraordinary and unprecedented challenges, including the aftermath of her brother’s violent attack, which left her as the caregiver for his two young children and her and her brother's aging mother (our grandmother), who is facing her own health challenges. In addition to all of this, she must support her own daughters, Jalera (10) and Nataisha (16). Gwen has worked tirelessly—up to 84 hours a week—to provide for her family.

The immense burden of these responsibilities has caused high levels of stress, anxiety, and two mental health episodes this year. In September, she had a mental health episode that has left her unable to work or meet her financial obligations. This has placed her and the children at imminent risk of losing their home.

Despite these setbacks, Gwen has committed herself to recovery, including counseling, medication, and behavioral health programs. However, the process has severely delayed her ability to fend for herself, leaving her financially paralyzed. Her rent is $5,400 behind, and basic needs like food and electricity are becoming harder to secure. My siblings and I have stepped in as much as we can, but we need help to ensure our mother and youngest siblings do not lose their home or go hungry. We are raising funds to cover:

• Rent and utility payments

• Food and transportation costs (medical appointments, school, etc.)
