Silvina Nieves-Meshel leaves behind her husband of 12 years, her daughter Olivia (10 years old) and her son Nicolas (6 years old). After fighting a long struggle through stage 4 colon cancer, multiple surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy, her 5-year battle ended on Febuary 13, 2017 surrounded by family. Silvina was a true fighter and her love and devotion to her children and everyone around her sustained her through difficult times. Her pain and suffering rarely showed through her beautiful smile - she was always so happy and bubbly. But she was in the fight of her life and was in constant pain towards the end. Cancer eventually spread to her bones and left her with a broken femur and hip, metastasizing in her lungs and unfortunately, no treatment had stemmed the advancement of her disease. Silvina was put on Hospice in the beginning of February. As her two children lie on a mattress beside her bed every night until she was admitted to the hospital for the last and final time, she had expressed her biggest fear was leaving her two children motherless.
The outpouring of support from friends, family and the community has prompted us to try and raise money for the families’ expenses which include: medical, memorial, burial expenses, and living expenses during this trying time.
Please give as little or as much as you are comfortable with, any amount is appreciated.
