Corbin is the 4 year old son of Mitch and Stephanie Sytsma. He is a very happy, vibrant, curious, and loving little boy; among many other things. He loves to play with his sister, cousins, and friends; loves sports, his preschool, camping, and many other things children tend to like. He is very much loving of his Mom and Dad, sister, and grandparents. Corbin is the typical high energy 4 year old. 

Unfortunately, back in September 2020 he developed a limp. We assumed he injured himself in some way and it did subside. A few weeks later, it came back and we began looking into helping him overcome it. Through various tests and scans it was accidently found that he had a mass on his right kidney. He was sent to Riley's Children Hospital in Indianapolis on February 17, 2021. They did a series of scans and tests of their own and determined he had a cancerous mass above his right kidney. They also found multiple questionable spots within his abdomen and soft tissue of the neck. Biopsy results confirmed the suspected diagnosis of neuroblastoma. Corbin is currently in his first round of chemo. He is expected to receive several rounds of chemotherapy before they can attempt a resection. 
 
As for now, he is returning to his former self post surgery. Every day is better than the last.  We ask all following this to respect our privacy. Any and all updates will be shared as soon as we are able. Our family has a long road ahead of us and we appreciate all the help and support from our amazing family and friends.

Corbin's medical team estimates this will be a 1.5 year process. Due to COVID-19, only one parent can remain in the room and can only rotate every 24 hours creating increased burden on the family. Our family is hoping to raise at least $35,000 to help offset costs of consistent travel, extended hotel stays, and medical bills that will quickly add up. Any amount helps and we appreciate your support!
