Stafford Community Park

Tax deductible
We are raising money to purchase land to build a community park!

The details:
The land will be purchased by the Gwynns Falls Business and Homeowners Association (DBA: Gwynns Falls Community Association), a registered 501c3 Non-Profit.
All maintenance will be the responsibility of members of the community association (mowing, general maintenance, etc.)
This property is 1.25 acres of green space in the center of our neighborhood.  The land is currently available for purchase, we just need to raise the funds.

This fundraiser is to raise the money needed to buy the land.  Once we own the land we will apply for grants to build a playground, establish a community garden, plant native flowers/bushes, paint a massive mural, and more.  But first, we need to gain ownership of the land.

Wish you could see our design for Stafford Community Park?  Check out this video of our design with video of the space for context.

Now is the time to invest in communities like ours.  Residents in our zip code, 21223, have a median household income of about $25,000 and unemployment rates are higher than national or citywide averages.  There is no playground nearby that children can safely walk to.

If we exceed our fundraising goal, we will use the excess to install new fencing around the property and put in a maintenance shed.
If our campaign falls short, we will use the fund to purchase just a portion of the land (it is 6 adjacent lots).

Community members have been advocating for a park on these lots for almost a decade.  Several times a week I get asked by children or parents when we will be putting a playground in.  We've been working hard to keep this area clean and mowed.  We can't wait to build our park.  Did you notice 11 year old Quan'taz helping with cleanup efforts in the video?  Here it is again.

Thanks to Quan'taz Smith for sharing his story.
