Hello! My name is Henry, and I am trying to raise money for my Boy Scout Eagle Project. I have partnered with Sharing Wheels; a non-profit bike shop located in Everett, Washington. With money from the fundraiser, we will purchase new and used bikes, build and tune them up, and donate them to needy children and families this Holiday Season.
We are planning on completing the project on the weekend of December 5th, so funds must be raised before then to purchase and collect bicycles.
This year in particular, COVID-19 has left many families struggling financially. So far, Sharing Wheels has had to turn down at least 30 families requesting bicycles for their children because demand is so high this year.
An example email from a mother that the bike shop had to turn down:
"My name is 'R' and I am requesting bikes for my girls... I have 4 at home and with this virus and my health conditions, we are unable to work, and have yet to be able to get back to work. We do get food stamps and help from the food boxes that are around, but everything is tight. I would love for my girls to be able to ride around the neighborhood and not be stuck inside all day. The ages of my girls are 5, 10, 14, and 18. If you could make this happen, we would be forever grateful!"
Thank you for your support! Let's meet our goal!
