3D printing Covid19 Face shields for NHS hospitals
Hello all,
In these uncertain and unpredictable times, the whole of the world is facing. I am trying to do whatever I can to help. I am doing this by producing Face shields for our local front line NHS nurses and doctors.
Currently, I am just limited to producing about 80 shields per week due to the long time in which these parts take to be produced (about 2 hours per shield ). As well as this I currently only have 1 3D printer available (With a second on its way (hopefully here by Thursday). With this extra printer, I will be able to produce twice as many life-saving PPE which is essential for the whole NHS.
With your donation, I will be able to pay for materials such as the filament used for printing ( A 1kg spool of filament, costing £17 can produce just over 33 shields). As well as this, the donation would be put towards expanding production of the shields at this current time, this is the biggest slowdown for everyone producing these.
Once there is no longer a need for additional PPE any 3d printers brought using any donations will be donated to schools/colleges and universities to help further students education in STEM subjects.
Any donation doesn't matter how small is really appreciated and will really help
(For questions, info, or to find out how you could produce your own please contact me at: [email redacted] )
Edit: the beneficiary will show as "Michelle lowater" who is my mum, this is because I am 17 and you must be over 18 in order to withdraw money, thanks, hope this didn't cause any confusion.
