You may have noticed signs are missing up at Garrison Pond on Lake Street! So is the diseased pine and dead bushes and brush!

I’m 15 and pursuing the highest rank in scouting, that of Eagle. My project is creating and building a beautiful landscape feature up at the pond a top the Old Garrison Ice House Foundation!

The path to Eagle requires that I take on a community service project that benefits others. My project is to transform the area.

The pond is one of the first places you see upon entering Ramsey from Rt. 17 on Lake Street.

I intend to clean up the area and make it as visually pleasing as possible through the removal of unsightly weeds, invasive species, and formulating and planting an inviting landscape feature that will hopefully house our signs.

“A scout is thrifty” I will make every effort to keep costs down but understand I must depend on the generosity of others. My goal is to raise enough money to fund my landscape feature and transform it into a pleasing and welcoming focal point as you enter our beautiful town. One that invites young families and children to watch ducks, picnic, do a little fishing, read a book while relaxing by the lake, or just enjoy an ice cream cone. It is my hope that I can count on my fellow residents, family, and friends to support this project.
