Mike & Family

Hi,

We are fundraising for Uncle Mike. Mike is a great adventurer and outdoorsman, a prolific climber, intrepid skier, mountain biker and paraglider. Mike is also a great husband and an awesome Dad!

Mike suffered a stroke as a complication from surgery on May 29th. Mike is now a resident of Vancouver General Hospital, he is paralyzed on his right side, can't talk and is working on his cognition. We are all hoping that Mike makes a recovery but in the meantime he has a loooong road ahead. His rehab timeline is at a minimum one year and could take much longer.

Mike has been struggling with a shoulder injury that has kept him from going back to work for over 8 months and as a result of living off savings his current financial status would make any accountant wince. When you add a year plus of not being able to work on top of that, the financial pressure on the family is considerable.

There is some WCB money for monthly payments but they do not come close to covering what is required.

If you can reach into the piggy bank and contribute what you can it will take the financial strain off the family and enable them to concentrate on the enormous task of getting Mike back to being Mike.
