name is Aida Arouri, and I am currently living in the UK for my studies. Before the war on Gaza began, I started a fundraiser for my dear friend Doaa and her family. Their home in Gaza City was completely destroyed, leaving them displaced and struggling to survive in unbearable conditions in Rafah.

Doaa is a mother whose strength has been tested beyond imagination. In Gaza, she clings to her two sons, Yazan and Kenan, as the world around them collapses. One dreadful night, their home—their only safe place—was destroyed in a single moment of violence. In the blink of an eye, all their memories, their warmth, and their hope turned to rubble and ashes.

Since that night, Doaa has been on a heartbreaking journey of survival. With nowhere left to go, she and her boys have become wanderers in their own city, fleeing over and over with nothing but shattered hearts and empty hands. They now live in a tent that barely shields them from the bitter cold, constant fear, and exhaustion.

Every day is a battle for basic survival. There is often not enough food for a single meal. Clean water is a luxury. Nights are sleepless, haunted by hunger and the terrifying sounds of bombs in the distance. With no money, no home, and the endless ache of uncertainty, Doaa watches her children grow weaker and quieter.

Once, she dreamed of a happy, safe life for her boys—a life with school, laughter, and bedtime stories. But today, all she wishes for is to see them safe, warm, and able to sleep one night without fear.

They have survived countless brushes with death, but each day is growing heavier. The pain of seeing her children hungry and terrified is breaking her spirit. Still, Doaa refuses to give up—her hope now rests in the kindness of strangers.
