Single mother trying to survive
Donation protected
Hi, my name is May. I’m a single parent with one child who is 21 months old. Life has been very difficult for me because I have been struggling to keep up with the cost of living and all of my household and childcare expenses. I receive Centrelink payments, but they only come every fortnight and most of it goes straight toward paying my rent and bills. By the time those are covered, there’s often very little left for food, nappies, or other essentials.
There have been times when I haven’t even had enough money to buy nappies for my son, so I’ve had to use towels instead. Some days are so tough that both my child and I go without proper meals because there simply isn’t enough money left for food. I am doing my best to care for my son, but the financial stress has been overwhelming. I just want to be able to provide the basics for him — nappies, food, and a safe home — but right now, every day feels like a struggle. Every donation, no matter how small, would make a real difference. Every dollar would go directly toward helping a single mum with a 21-month-old child. It would help us cover essentials like nappies, food, and basic living costs, and ease the daily struggles we face.
