Jean Kim Legal Defense Fund

Jean Kim is fighting an appeals lawsuit from NYC Mayoral Candidate Scott Stringer. The original defamation suit was dismissed on August 4, 2023, stating that it had passed the statute of limitations.

Ms. Kim is an Asian immigrant woman with few financial resources. Judge Richard Latin declared in the dismissal that "even in the light read most favorable to the plaintiff, the theory that Jean Kim was in control of Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney's press statements is mere speculation" and does not trigger a reason to open the expired statute of limitations.
