Join Me in Making a Difference: Supporting Families in El Salvador

Dear Friends,

As we witness the incredible growth and safety in my beautiful country of El Salvador, it's essential to acknowledge that some families still require support. Last night , during my visit touring the new and restored historic center of El Salvador, I encountered a 24 year old mother and her two kids. A two year old boy and a four year old little girl selling candies to tourists, striving to earn a livelihood together. My family and I decided to sit down with them and extend our help in a manner that's not for recognition so I will not discuss on this post what we did for them, but for the sheer desire to make a difference. During our conversation we learned that the mom walks all day along side her two older children’s selling candies just to be able to rent a room for her, her 3 kids and her mom. (She’s has a 2 month old at home) She discussed with us further details that broke my heart and stuck with me all night. During the conversation with the mom, my sister handed the little girl her iPhone and put on a kids show while we spoke to her mom. Once we were done, the little girl thanked my sister and asked if she could come back the next day so she could learn and play. I couldn’t hold my tears back after seeing her little face light up in hopes we would return.

I'm reaching out to you all today not to seek praise but to inquire about something more significant - your willingness to lend a helping hand. I'm initiating a fundraising effort, aiming not only to assist the family we encountered but also other families who are in similar need. Items to be purchased range from food to clothing to medicines and hygiene products. Additionally, each donor will receive a picture or video of the families receiving your donations, allowing you to witness the impact of your generosity firsthand.

It's crucial to note that I won't be sharing their faces or struggles on social media. My intention isn't to minimize or victimize them further but to offer genuine assistance. Your generosity will directly impact these families' lives, providing the support they need without compromising their dignity.
