Education & Drinking Water for Cambodian Children
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Klaus and I'm helping to raise funds for the access to clean drinking water in Cambodian villages, and also for the access of education to children in these villages.
The pilot of this project is in conjunction with an existing project, Children Legacy Organisation (CLO) created by Mr. Sovannarith. Outside of Siam Reap, Sovannarith runs a free school for children, where they can learn English, Chinese, and other subjects.
The school has no funding besides from charity, and volunteers.
At the moment there is a lack of facilities such as toilets, and there is also a wish to buy laptops for students so that they can learn much necessary computer skills.

He has also helped supplying 1000's of people with clean drinking water in the area, through installing a water filtration system, just by the school. There is still work to be done on the water system, and this extensive filtration system requires funds for upkeep, cleaning, and repairs.
The water is absolutely free to everyone without charge.
There have been 2 other major fundraising projects for water filtration in Cambodia, but these were minor and primitive ceramic and sand filters for single households that do not offer a large-scale or long-term solution. This water filter is a 5 stage filter including UV light filtration, and is more effective and sustainable for a whole community.
The future vision of this project is to also help other villages in Cambodia have access to clean drinking water, and education for children.
Currently 1/3 of Cambodia does not have access to clean drinking water, and many who drink contaminated water suffer from illnesses.
While public schooling theoretically exists for everyone in Cambodia, it is not a reality that all children can attend, or that they can learn the useful skills that are provided by CLO.
It should be mentioned that one of the reasons I am the one starting this fundraiser, is because Cambodian banks are unable to connect to fundraising platforms, and payment platforms such as paypal.
There is also a general distrust towards Cambodian nationals when it comes to crowdfunding, as corruption is rampant in the country.
We aim to be fully transparent in the funding process, and you can find regular updates about the project on our social media. We will also be happy to answer any questions or concerns that you might have.
I hope that we all can work together on making the world a better place!
