I came across Vallarta Abuela, a non-profit that helps children in the community with education expenses and offers educational development. Many of the children go to Vallarta Abuela daily because they don't have their basic needs met daily like food, clothing and taking a bath. I see so many underserved kids in my community that need help just to get by. I was inspired by so many of you who reached out to me to see how you can help.
Meet Rafael, Diego and the their mom Maria. Rafael and Diego's father passed away during the pandemic and left the family with a $200 monthly pension to live off of. Maria is battling cancer and has to travel to Guadalajara often to get treatment in government hospital. Maria has missed treatments because the lack of money to take a 5 hour bus ride to get there. She is believes taking care of the boys comes first.
Surprisingly, it cost a lot of money to attend school. Tuition, daily lunch program, uniforms, supplies. They are required to have a smart phone so that the teacher can send them their homework assignments or they don't get them.
If you can give anything to help this beautiful family out. Together we can sponsor them to have a better life. Last week was a time of being thankful and now it is the time for giving. I would appreciate any support you give big or small!
