Help Renew Arlikumari Sambhota Tibetan School

My name is Namgyal Kardon, and I'm one of a team of impassioned parent volunteers spearheading the transformation and improvement of the Arilkumari Sambhota Tibetan School in Bylakuppe (located between Camp 3 & Camp 4). As a concerned member of the fundraising team, I am driven by the desire to ensure a better educational environment for the children of our community.

For decades, our beloved school has been a cornerstone of the Tibetan community in Bylakuppe, nurturing generations of young minds since its establishment in the 1970s. However, time has taken its toll, and the school now stands in a state of disrepair. Although we were sanctioned funds an amount of INR 4, 98, 075 from the Department of Education (Tibetan) and Sambhota Head Office. This was only towards the renovation of old building walls and roof. The amount is not sufficient to make other basic improvements required in the school, therefore we've initiated this fund raising. Below are photos that showcase the urgent need for renovation and improvements.

Our fundraising initiative aims to collect donations and funds to initiate a comprehensive revitalisation project. Every contribution will directly fund crucial upgrades, including renovating ageing classrooms, installing new doors and windows to enhance safety and natural lighting, revamping the lighting systems, restoring floors to provide a conducive learning environment, and constructing a new open-air sheltered stage for events and performances.

Additionally, our goals encompass essential improvements such as creating a new shelter for the badminton/assembly area, replacing the old water tank for better water supply, tiling the lunchroom/dining hall for hygiene and cleanliness, expanding storage space in the kitchens, installing a new sink counter, replacing lunchroom windows to include screens for protection from mosquitoes and the risk of dengue, and raising the height of the school fencing for enhanced security.

This endeavour is not merely about refurbishing the physical infrastructure; it's about safeguarding the quality of life and education and preserving the memories and legacy that the Arilkumari Sambhota Tibetan School has imprinted on countless individuals. As the Tibetan community in Bylakuppe continues to grow, maintaining a well-equipped and safe educational space is pivotal to ensuring a bright future for our children.

Every donation made will be handled with utmost transparency, with full disclosure of how the funds are allocated and utilized. Donors will have access to comprehensive proof of the improvements made, ensuring accountability and trust.
