This isn't Goodbye...Until We meet again My Loves

Let me tell you about my friend Maggie Makas. She is the owner of the Forever Young Beauty Salon on Crosby Avenue in the Bronx. If you’ve ever been to Maggie’s salon, you know that when you are there, you receive a lot of love, a great hairstyle or color, as well as any other beauty needs. Maggie has been and continues to be a big part of our Bronx community! She helps us to celebrate all our joys and events by making us look and feel like no one else can!

On March 18, 2010, tragedy struck Maggie who suddenly lost her eldest daughter Artemis to an unknown heart condition. This sudden loss left a big gap in her life and that of her youngest daughter Luiza. Maggie and Luiza helped each other along the way and slowly began a new life without their beloved daughter and sister. Luiza married her high school sweetheart, Dominik, and they began another new chapter in their lives.

Four months ago baby Joseph came into the world, and the challenge of becoming a new mother began for Luiza. Sadly, last week Maggie lost Luiza, her youngest daughter. This has left behind broken hearts and lives that will never be the same again. The loss of a child is hard enough for a mother to bear, the loss of two is unthinkable.

I am currently asking for donations on behalf of Maggie Makas, a beloved member of our community. Your donation will help provide a small financial relief fund that will enable Maggie to continue servicing our community as only she can! Your assistance will allow Maggie to stay in our community and be a part of the growth and development of her grandson Joseph. Your effort will be greatly appreciated. Whatever you can give will help Maggie, not just financially, but it will help her to see that the same community she’s given so much to over the years, has her back now, when she needs it the most!
