A family in need

Hello my name is Audrey, My spouse and I have a trailer in Highland Mi with our 3 children, and my spouses two daughters who also come and stay with us on the weekends. We have a total of 5 small kids in the house. My spouse got laid off from his job 10/03/2023 due to the UAW strikes, and it’s been hard to get back on our feet. We lost our car right before moving into the trailer, so without transportation things have been extremely sticky finding new jobs. We have fallen behind on rent now, and utilities. We owe roughly $3,100 on rent with court fines, and late fees. We also are behind on all our utilities. To fully catch up on bills it’ll be roughly $4-5k. My spouse did find new employment, and started 11/27/2023, however it’ll take us a long time to get caught up, and I’m not sure we will be able to stay in our home while trying to do that with how far we have fallen behind. We have court 11/30/2023. This is last resort, and truthfully hate having to do this. It’s hard to need this kind of help, as parents you feel like these things should always be paid, like we aren’t failing our children. But I know with inflation, and rent/mortgage prices increasing the way they are, many families are in the same situations.
