Homebirth for Low Income Woman

A gofundme for a low income woman to have a homebirth
Today I turn ingthirty two though I have been a birth activist for years before I became the President of the Maternity Consumer Network. As a birthday present I wanted to raise funds for a low income or first nations woman to have a homebirth in Ipswich Queensland.
Regional maternity services in Queensland are failing women due to shortages of staff, lack of attraction to regional facilities, obstetric misogyny towards midwives and violence towards women in their birth facilities. Regional Queensland currently has the biggest lot of freebirthing women in all of Australia, I have never seen anything like it. It is due to combination of the reasons listed above.
I thought if I could make the world a better place for just one woman, there is a bit of hope.
So as President of Maternity Consumer Network, we are holding a fundraiser to pay for one woman’s homebirth with New Life Midwifery in Ipswich. All proceeds will go to them. Anything extra will go to post-partum needs of the woman via meal services, lactation, doula support, pelvic floor therapy newborn needs.
