This giving season, help us keep the creative sparks alive at All Hands Active, Ann Arbor's Makerspace! We're on a mission to cultivate Ann Arbor's creativity by providing classes, workshops, workspace, tools, and materials to our community!
Your generous donations to the annual Holiday Fundraiser help to support our long term development goals. Over the next year, we will be working on the following goals:
- Developing of a greater variety of beginner-friendly classes to reach a more diverse community of makers! We currently offer beginner-friendly classes on how to use the laser cutter, 3D printers, and CNC machines, and we hope to expand into beginner-friendly 3D modelling classes, digital art classes, crafting classes, and clothing repair classes.
- Developing intermediate- and higher-level classes geared toward career development. These classes will include higher-level training on the laser cutter, 3D printers, and CNC machines, as well as more intensive 3D modelling, digital art, and programming classes.
- Offering instructor pay for our amazing instructors!
- Improving infrastructure at the space, which includes upgrades to our public PCs, cameras to assist with both security and classes, marketing, and tool demos, and upgrades to our door entry system.
- Increase our outreach efforts by attending (and demo-ing our tools at) more community events, and connecting with other organizations in the Ann Arbor area.
- Putting together ready-to-make projects for visitors to our space so that anyone who visits us leaves empowered to make! With your donations, we can keep soldering kits, Arduino kits, simple sewing kits, and craft kits on hand.
Your support also helps us improve, maintain, and expand our shop capacities! Funds from this year's Holiday Fundraiser will help purchase upgrades for our tools, such as...
- A new laser bed and power supply unit to upgrade the laser cutter.
- New end mills and a new dust collection system to expand the functional capacity of the CNC machines.
- A wash and cure station for the newly donated Elegoo Mars resin 3D printer.
- A second sewing machine and new machine needles.
Moreover, your contributions ensure that visitors and members have access to materials for their projects. High material costs are often an individual's greatest barrier to becoming a maker - but when materials are a shared community resource, everyone has the opportunity to be a maker!
Of course, your donations also help us keep our doors open and the shop clean and safe.
