Soltis Street Animal Rescue is fundraising today for the building of a new Sanctuary !
After two and a half years of running our Sanctuary- nine years of rescue- we are constantly growing our fur baby family. We are rescuing several dogs daily, mostly horrific and serious cases who need intensive medical care. We are now at a whopping 75 dogs at our sanctuary. Our small sanctuary at our co founders home has 13 dogs ( most paralyzed or disabled) 3 tiny pups, 3 large cows, 4 calves and a foal, we have rapidly run out of space. Soltis Hope is not just a clinic and treatment center but for most dogs admitted it’s a permanent home, the only home they have ever known. We want them to feel comfortable and have room to play and just be dogs.
For a long time we have needed better facilities, upgrades on all our living spaces, isolation area, a puppy area, electricity and water supplies and so much more. NOW OUR MOVE HAS BEEN FORCED ! With 74 dogs all barking at the same time we have had neighbors complaining to us, our landlord and the local municipality. Our landlord wants us out ! He’s agreed to another 6 months to move the dogs so now we really are under pressure !
The land for the new sanctuary has been donated to us by our wonderful shelter manger, Jagat, it’s land he’s had for years and knows the animals desperately need it. But it’s bare land, a large area but with nothing on it ! We would use donations to initially get the land prepared for drainage, electricity, water, fencing and living spaces for the dogs and bovine.
It would mean the world to us and all our fur babies to have a space to call their home, to keep rescuing, giving medical treatment, sterilizing, and give the forgotten animals a new and wonderful life.
