Help During Mikes Treatment & Recovery

Hi my name is George Hayes and I’m raising money to aid my brother Michael Hayes, his wife Allie and their daughter Frances. Michael had a new onset of seizures over the holiday and was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was found to have a brain tumor.

Mike will have brain surgery in next the ten days. The tumor lives on the right side of his brain. The tumor is quite large and doesn’t have defined edges which will make the surgery a little more difficult to operate.

We were told it could be either one of two kinds of cancerous tumors. An astrocytoma or an oligodendroglioma. She’s hopeful that the grade of tumor is low which means the cancer would be less aggressive and slow growing.

The best case scenario would be that the tumor is an olio and therefore easier to remove. In most cases these types of cancers will need some sort of treatment after surgery; chemo, radiation or both.

It is unclear how long Michael’s road to recovery will be and how long he will be out of work. Allie is self employed and will be supporting their baby girl Frances while managing care for Michael over this time.

I am asking you for any assistance you can with so many unknowns in the near future. With a possibility of multiple surgeries and months of treatment to follow, I’m hoping to ease the financial burden at the very least.
