Help George Schiavone Replace His Stolen Photography Equipment.
You all know my uncle, George Schiavone. He is a highly gifted and award winning photographer. Over the years he has created not only compelling and beautiful commercial images, but who has also recorded lasting memories of art, theater, and family and friendship. For over 60 years he has blessed us with his uncanny ability to capture the moment through his lens.
Now something incredibly bad has happened to him. The bulk of his photography equipment was stolen. Many of us know what it’s like to be violated by thievery. But such a violation is made particularly worse when the means of self-sufficiency are unjustifiably taken from us. Upwards of $9,000 worth of camera lenses and other necessary equipment was taken from him, leaving him without the tools to practice his craft. He is now like a painter without his brushes and easel or a carpenter without his workshop tools.
George Schiavone has recorded many of our most memorable moments. Whether you are his friend, family member, or fellow member of the theater community, you know his work. If we want him to continue making his photographic magic, he needs the tools of his craft replaced. Help us make him whole again.
