Hi everyone. This is really hard to put out there but unfortunately we’re at the point where idk what else to do.
My name is Ashley. I’m a single mom with 9 year old and 4 year old daughters. I’ve also been taking care of my sister the last 11 years since our mother and her father (my stepdad) passed away from drug related issues. My sister has always struggled with learning disabilities and health issues. Recently she confided in me that she has been taken advantage of and my father has been sexually abusing her for years.
We made a police report and it’s a very long process as we need to prove she’s not legally able to consent due to her mental capacity since she is over 18. I missed 3 days of work from the company I’ve been with for over 7 years. I spoke with the HR director and explained what was going on but I was still fired for missing the 3 days.
They are also disputing my unemployment claim so I may need to appeal if denied. I’m looking for work but haven’t found a position yet.
I will be unable to pay rent and support my girls because of the situation we are in. I applied for cash aid and food stamps which are both pending.
We have no other family or support so this is our last resort.
