If you know Shawn Hafley and have ever visited Flanders Bicycle, then you know first hand how important these two are to our beautiful home of SLO. Shawn Hafley is loved by many as someone who is committed to the idea of making this community stronger through his love of music, art, and biking. Several years ago, Shawn and his partner at the time Jon, embarked on their dream of owning a bike shop. Since Jon's amicable and friendly departure from the shop, shawn has worked tirelessly to ensure Flanders Bicycle continues to provide the highest quality of service and products our town deserves. On Tuesday morning at approximately 3am, Flanders was hit by thieves in what has become a regular occurrence with local businesses here in SLO. In robbing Flanders, the unconscionable thieves made off with product, cash, computers and personal effects such as a custom guitar shawn loved like a child, as well as, property damage to the store. The combined costs of these items are extremely high and compromise the health/success of Shawn's beautiful space. Please help us support our friend with any amount that feels right to you as this violation of Shawn's business and stability comes just weeks before Christmas.
During the break-in, the thieves did some structural damage which has resulted in immediate out of pocket expenses for Shawn and his wife Darci. This could not have come at a worse time.
