Can you imagine a situation in which your life is on hold, you can not see your children, your job is now on the line, income subject to stop, bills due, housing and custody of children in jeopardy? These are common issues for those detained behind bars and unable to afford the bail. 

Being in a stressful situation and having limited options is a very familiar circumstance for many American’s who find themselves in an unfamiliar situation like being detained without a court date or hearing. Those who have no prior criminal record or conviction can spiral into a state of confusion because their future is unknown.  There are tens of thousands of first time nonviolent offenders held behind bars and unable to pay bail.

Now imagine a loved one serving time and not being able to ever visit because the cost to travel or the distance is not within your means? Statistically 1-4 women have a loved one behind bars.  Visitation doesn’t just help the family have a chance to reconnect but helps the inmate  in the reentry process and reduces recidivism.

The Inside And Out Project is a newly formed nonprofit organization that seeks to help Make Freedom Affordable and Help Families Reunite! 

We provide bail, resources, and referrals to nonviolent first time offenders from low-income and financially disadvantaged families. We seek to make the reunification process successful by providing monthly transportation for visitation to designated correctional facilities, to help those that are not otherwise able to visit due to cost or distance. We plan to offer an Outreach Program for at risk youth for prevention. The program will take an educational, mentoring, positive, and humanistic approach to prevention measures.

Your generous donation would be used to support our programs and services.  We have a goal to help as many families as we can, and donations greatly increase our reach and effectiveness.  Donations used for bail get returned to the organization's fund at the conclusion of a case and can then be used to help pay another individual’s bail.  Your donation can be recycled many times over helping numerous people.  

Nearly 500,000 non convicted people are held in jail awaiting court dates which can often take weeks, months, and sometimes years. In a nation that presumes all citizens are innocent until proven guilty; some awaiting trial will not agree, since many of these non violent, first time offenders will lose their jobs, housing, custody of their children, and the vast majority will take a plea deal simply to get released sooner. Your support and our initiative will offer these individuals an opportunity to have a fighting chance!
