32nd Scouts Volunteer in Peru

Four young people from the 32nd Scout Group, all aged just 15, have been given an incredible opportunity to travel to Peru in July 2027 to volunteer in communities that need real, practical support.
For these Scouts, this is not just a trip — it’s a chance to change lives while being changed themselves.
They will be working in a deeply under-resourced area where access to funding, food security, and safe facilities cannot be taken for granted. Their time there will focus on projects that create lasting, sustainable impact.
At an elderly care home, they will help plant and establish vegetable gardens that can provide ongoing, reliable food sources for residents, helping the home move toward greater independence and sustainability.
At a children’s nursery, they will help to build a secure fence, creating a safe place for children to learn and play, while also protecting the nursery from theft — something that has been an ongoing challenge for the community. They will also help plant vegetables to support feeding the children who attend the nursery.
These may sound like simple projects, but they will make a real, daily difference to the people who live there.
The Scouts themselves will gain confidence, resilience, practical skills, cultural understanding, and a lifelong appreciation for community and service. Experiences like this help shape young people into compassionate adults who understand the importance of giving back.
As part of the expedition, they will also have the opportunity to visit Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World — an inspiring moment that will reward their hard work and fundraising efforts.
Each Scout must raise funds to cover travel, accommodation, project materials, and expedition costs. They are committed to working hard through fundraising events and activities, but they cannot do it alone.
Your support will help: •
• Support food-growing projects for children and elderly residents
• Help four young people represent their Scout group and community abroad
• Create an experience that will shape their values for life
Every donation, no matter how small, brings them one step closer to making a lasting difference — both in Peru and in their own lives.
Thank you for believing in them and supporting their journey.
