Support the Patterson Family

This fundraiser is for the Patterson family (Randy, Alexis, and Maya), who many of you know through our years together with the Thunder Softball family. The Patterson family has known their share of hardship, with Randy’s stroke and Katie’s mother’s sudden death a few years ago. In early October 2024, Katie Patterson died suddenly in CA, where she, Randy, and Maya had recently moved. Randy and Katie grew up in CA and met in high school and in August they made the difficult decision to leave their Chicago home of more than 30 years and move permanently back to California to be closer to family. Even before their Chicago home could be packed up and moved, Katie suffered a fatal heart attack which left Randy and the girls reeling and devastated at having lost the backbone of their family.

Many of you knew Katie's zest for life, family, and friends. Always ready with a smile, a laugh, and a desire to get as much joy out of life as possible. This exuberance for life extended to the joy she derived from caring for Maya, Alexis, and Randy. We know how difficult it will be for them to navigate this new normal without Katie and offer this GoFundMe to help support them in the aftermath of this tragedy.
