The Appalachia Trip

Donation protected
The Appalachia Trip is about many things: community, compassion, friendship, simplicity, faith, hope, empathy, volunteerism. And after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, we are so excited to be coming together once again in service of these shared values!
~
The Appalachia Trip is a service mission of the St. George and St. John Bosco parishes, as well as the Connecticut shoreline community. Since 1980, a group of about 40 - 60 people has traveled from Guilford, CT to Booneville, KY to spend 10 days engaging in construction-type work on homes desperately in need of repair, renovation or addition.

We are so appreciative of your support of our 40th trip! 100% of funds raised will go directly towards trip activities. Outside of purchasing gas and incidental supplies as we travel to and from Kentucky (in borrowed vehicles!), money is directly invested into the economy of Eastern Kentucky, as we source all of our construction materials from local vendors.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to a member of our leadership team!
