Hi, my name is Beth & I'm currently fundraising for my sister Emma & her little family. On the weekend of the 27th January Emma woke up with blurred vision so attended the Royal Derby hospital to see what was going on, she was told she had an infection behind her eye & was given drops, by this time she had lost her sight in her eye. As this obviously affected her tremendously she was unable to work, after a little while the drops started to work & she returned back to work, whilst visiting the hospital numerous times a week they changed her medication and she deteriorated drastically and was in so much pain so yet again had to stop going to work. She then had an ulcer behind it which perforated causing even more pain to my poor sister. On her husband Gary's birthday, 22nd March, the pain become unbearable & she decided to seek advice elsewhere & went to Birmingham hospital. They proceeded to tell her that she'd now got a secondary infection. There was still hope that she would get her sight back. On the 26th April she attended the hospital to be told the worse possible news. She was going to lose her eye & have to have a prosthetic one put in. As you can imagine we are all heartbroken for her. But she could not carry on how she has been living. She's gone from a lively outgoing amazing woman to someone who has been unable to leave the house as sunlight/ daylight just caused her to much pain, sat in darkness by herself. She's been back to the hospital today & has been for a pre op and is scheduled to have her eye removed on Friday morning 5th May. As her little sister I just can't stop breaking my heart for her, we used to meet up numerous times a week even if it was just to go a walk round swad, to hardly seeing her at all. I feel like I've lost my left arm. My sister does not deserve to have to go though this, anyone that knows Emma knows that she's such an amazing woman, she will do anything for anyone she loves, I just want to make everything right for her but I can't and that really upsets me. Gary is self employed & along with being poorly himself & having hospital stays he's had to have time off to take Emma to and from hospital up to 3 times a week. This means they've had no income whatsoever and has been expected to live off approximately £400 a month which doesn't even cover her mortgage. My sister has done nothing but work her socks off her whole life and has not been entitled to a single penny other than statutory sick pay. So I've set up this page for anyone to donate no matter how big or small, just so that they can live, pay there bills & pay for the fuel & hospital trips that are still yet to come. And if there's any left over then hopefully when it's all done with and Emma, Gary & Ava can have the life back that they deserve then hopefully there will a bit left over for them to have a family day or even weekend together. So please share & help out this amazing family like I say no matter how big or small any donation helps. I just want my sister back. Thank you for reading.
