Help Flora become an Australian Citizen

They say it takes a village to raise a child and we have certainly felt the love and support from the village who have surrounded Flora and I over the past seven years, and are embracing the new village we are making in our next chapter.

When Flora was 19 days old her birth mother tragically passed away and I felt called to raise this sweet girl and give her everything any birth child would deserve.

As many of you know it has been a long journey thus far for Flora and I to even be back in Australia - against all odds we were able to obtain a Rwandan adoption, an intercountry adoption, a compliance certificate, a Rwandan passport and a permanent residency visa into Australia. It may have taken 6 years of endurance and resilience but we finally got what most birth children take for granted - a passport of her country of birth.

Our story isn't over yet and once again against all odds we have made incredible progress with our immigration lawyer and are ready to submit our case to the supreme court of Australia for Flora to obtain a federal (Australian) adoption, which will then allow her to gain Australian citizenship and then an Australian passport.

Before this can happen we have some legal fees that need to be paid, the Barrister will cost $10,000 and the court hearing will be $5,000. The work that my amazing immigration lawyer has done will be more than $10,000.
