30-Year Memorial Run for Neil

Tax deductible
30-Year Memorial Half Marathon for Neil: Supporting Families Affected by Asbestos.

This year, we remember our father Neil, who, 30 years ago, lost his life to mesothelioma, an asbestos-related disease. Neil was a loving father, husband, and friend to many. In 1993, his life was cut short at age 45, leaving behind a wife and four children.

Asbestos exposure remains a public health concern in Australia, and families continue to be affected. Efforts to raise awareness, provide support, and advocate for those impacted by asbestos exposure are ongoing.

Since 1991, ACV/GARDS has been providing assistance to asbestos victims in Gippsland and Victoria. As a non-profit organisation, they are the largest group in Victoria dedicated to asbestos support and advocacy. Their services include:
  • Counselling.
  • Helping people identify asbestos in their homes.
  • Facilitating asbestos support groups.
  • Conducting asbestos and silica awareness and education programs.

In loving memory of our father Neil and to support those affected by asbestos-related diseases, we are taking on a half marathon on October 15 to raise awareness and much-needed funds for ACV/GARDS. Every donation brings us one step closer to making a difference.

About Us:
For those who don't know us, we're Jennifer and Anthony, Neil's youngest (now adult) children running in this half marathon. We are deeply committed to honouring our father's memory and the countless others affected by asbestos-related illnesses. As a sister and brother team, we carry forward the legacy of a father who meant the world to us. With your support, we aim to make a meaningful impact by raising awareness and funds for ACV/GARDS. Our journey is not just a run; it's a heartfelt tribute to our father, Neil and a resolute stand with those touched by the far-reaching effects of asbestos exposure. We appreciate your support. Together, we can make a difference.
