Today I’m writing this message because I can no longer watch my parents suffocate under the weight of a situation that seems to have no end.

My parents are two incredible people—hard workers who have always given everything for our family. Together they earn about €2,500 a month, an amount that should allow a decent life. Instead, the reality they live every day is a silent nightmare.

The reality of the numbers:

Because of a very long mortgage for our home and small loans accumulated over time to deal with emergencies, the situation today is this:

They reach the end of the month with less than €50 left.

They are often forced to take small additional loans just to buy groceries and make it to the next paycheck.

They are 50 years old and, if nothing changes, they will still be paying these debts until they are 70.

The impact on their lives:

Seeing them live like this breaks my heart. This is not only about money; it’s about mental health and freedom. The constant pressure is slowly wearing them down.

They cannot enjoy life, they cannot travel, they cannot discover the world and sometimes they can’t even help themselves or others because their minds are constantly filled with worries and deadlines.

At 50 years old they deserve to start enjoying the fruits of their hard work, not counting every cent just to buy a pack of pasta.

Why I’m asking for your help:

My goal is to raise an amount that will allow us to close the smaller debts early and drastically reduce the mortgage payment.

I’m not asking for luxury. I’m asking for their right to breathe again.

I want them to wake up in the morning without the weight of a debt that will follow them into old age. I want our home to become a place of peace again, not a financial prison.

Paying off short-term loans (the ones they use just to buy groceries), eliminating the most suffocating monthly payments.

Reducing the mortgage balance on the house so the monthly payment can be permanently lowered.
