I believe that if one wants to truly understand the wealth of Africa, they must look into the eyes of it's people. For in those eyes you shall see the joy and the pain that makes this beautiful continent. I have merely glimpsed into the eye of Uganda's next generation- of which I am a part of and i see hope. I see joy yet to be realised. But I also see pain that can be stopped before it begins.
The 'Watoto villages program' has seen those things to, and as a result they offer refuge to the most vulnerable of that next generation, and help nurture them to realise their full potential. Through housing and schooling for orphans, homeless and abused women and children they aim to help the most vulnerable members of our society realise their full potential.
It is for those reasons that Charlotte and I teamed up to help support them in any way we can. Through a donation of 30 rand (3 USD) to charlottes 30 km run, we hope to help the project in any way we can and we ask you to do the same. Any donation is appreciated, and we would like to thank you in advance to those who donated.
