Karibu Sana (welcome in Swahili)!

This is our third year of funding the Fesser and Friends Center for Hope, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the last 3 years, we have opened an orphanage and have provided food, education, security and shelter to more than 25 children in need. We have cooked more than 60,000 warm meals, supported over 100 local students and helped train 32 teachers in the area. On top of all that, we have recently relocated to a new and improved orphanage (The kids love it - check out our Instagram to see for yourself @fesserandfriends)!

A famous African proverb goes, “It takes a village to raise a child”, an ideology that has carried our organization from the very beginning. Without this sense of community and support we have received from places all around the world like Rhinebeck, Buffalo, Wichita, Madison, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Spain, England, Colombia, India, and more, we could not continue to support these children. We are their village and they are counting on us. To date, most of our followers and donors have been connected to us directly, so it truly has been a big family effort. If you have ever supported us in any way, you are a part of this family. That being said, as the needs of our children grow, so too must the village.

We are launching this fundraiser not only to celebrate our many accomplishments but also to impart to you the importance that each donor holds on the survival and growth of our organization. Our foundation has never been one of deep pockets. Instead, we rely on you, our everyday friends and family, to ensure we continue to provide for our kids at the orphanage. Not long ago our children were scared, hopeless and alone; now they are happy and talking to us about their hopes and dreams. You, our village, made that happen.
